The Forest Landowner Foundation was incorporated on August 12, 1986. The Foundation was established to assist landowners in caring for their forests by providing them with information and education, to help the general public appreciate the extensive ecological benefits of forestry, and to educate the public about the benefits of forests and forest products.

The Foundation pursues this mission through, among other things, the publication of educational materials, a scholarship program for forestry students, and the development of programs to educate the general public about the ecological benefits of forestry.

Mission

The Forest Landowner Foundation Pledges to initiate, encourage, and sponsor the development and publication of technical and practical forestry and forestry related information; educational programs and effective teaching methods in forestry, forest management, and related subjects; individuals to enter careers in forestry and fields related to forestry; research in forestry and related fields and the publication or aid of such research; the advancement of a widespread knowledge of, and interest in, forestry, forest management, and related fields. 

The Forest Landowner Foundation is an IRS designated 501(c) (3) charitable organization. 

The Forest Landowner Foundation was established to assist landowners  by:

  • Helping the general public appreciate the extensive ecological benefits of forestry
  • Educating the public about the benefits of forests and forest products

  • The publication of educational materials like the recent PERC report on certification issues
  • Development of programs to educate the general public about the ecological benefits of forestry
  • A scholarship program for forestry students
